Hospital Services

Experienced Hospital Care

cardsOur physicians at T.H.I.S. have had extensive experience in hospital care. However, as of late, we have embraced the philosophy of using hospitalists, that is hospital-based specialists that attend to your care in the hospital setting. To assure that you receive utmost quality service, and to maintain continuity of you care, your doctor at T.H.I.S. remains involved in your case, assisting the hospitalist with information and monitoring your care at the hospital during your stay. We believe that in this fashion you will get the best service available, coupled with the continuity of care characteristic of Family Medicine and the "personal attention" that we are known for at T.H.I.S.

Fees and Insurance

Payment for care rendered is due at the time services are provided. Co-payments and deductibles must be dealt with prior to your visit. It is unlawful for us not to collect a co-payment, as this can be seen as fraud by Medicare. Our dedicated office staff will make every effort to help you remember this responsibility of yours. As always, we will be glad to file most primary and secondary insurance claims for you, including Medicare. We ask that you help us maintain reasonable fees by paying your bill timely. We recognize that exceptional circumstances may prevent you from fulfilling this responsibility, and we will work with you as much as possible whenever such difficult situations occur.

After Hours Services

When our office is closed, we are still there for you if you need us. Our on call physicians will attend most problems over the phone, and will arrange to see you at the office the following day. In the event of life threatening emergencies, they will direct you to the nearest emergency room, and make arrangements to assure that the most competent clinicians provide your care at the hospital. Call our office at (828)262-3733, or directly our after hours pager at (828)266-9390, and our providers will promptly call you back, to be at your side when things go bump! in the night.
