Family Medicine and Acute Treatment
T.H.I.S. has always been a pioneering force the High Country. It was the first facility to offer a beautiful, luminous, healing environment into which you could receive care. We were also the first Family Practice to accept walk-ins, and we gave the people of Watauga County the possibility of being seen without an appointment. Presently, we have separated the Family / Women's Medicine) from the Walk-In / Acute Care to improve the efficiency of both types of services. This allows us to see you when the need arises, or timely if you make an appointment.
Patient Advocate
In these times of uncertainty, decreasing unemployment, loss of insurance and managed care, it is important to remember how T.H.I.S. has always been a patient advocate. We were the first family practice in Boone to accept Medicaid and file Medicare. We were also one of the first to offer you the convenience of filing insurance electronically, and we continue to always look after the well-being of our patients, by strongly supporting you when dealing with insurance companies.
